Grand Seiko

In 1967, Grand Seiko introduced the iconic 44GS watch, which epitomized the Grand Seiko Style design language. This style drew inspiration from traditional Japanese crafts such as paper sliding doors, folding screens, and folding fans. Two new watches pay homage to this design, featuring elements reminiscent of Japanese folding fans. The dials of these watches showcase a radiating pattern created from flat surfaces and straight edges, echoing the aesthetics of kamisen, or paper folding fans. Crafted with precision and patience, these watches harmonize with the 44GS case, capturing the interplay of light and shadow characteristic of folding fans. A vivid, thermally blued steel seconds hand adorns the patterned white dial, powered by the manually wound mechanical caliber 9S64 movement, providing a maximum power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound.
